From Father Paul
May 14, 2026
This Sunday we celebrate the great Feast of Pentecost — one of the principal feasts of the Church year. Pentecost comes fifty days after Easter and commemorates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples, as described in the Book of Acts. Filled with courage, joy, and the power of the Spirit, the disciples were sent out to share the Good News with the world. For this reason, Pentecost is often called “the birthday of the Church.”
The traditional color for Pentecost is red, symbolizing the fire of the Holy Spirit that descended upon the disciples. We invite and encourage everyone to wear red this Sunday as a visible and joyful sign of celebration, unity, and the Spirit alive among us today.
As we gather for worship, may we pray for the Spirit to renew and inspire us once again — filling our hearts with wisdom, compassion, courage, and hope for the work God calls us to do together.
We look forward to celebrating Pentecost with you!
Blessings,
Father Paul
