What are you reading?
by Paul Klitzke on September 04, 2025
Reading is a simple pleasure, yet one that can offer profound insight and wisdom. It has been a great joy to encounter so many avid readers at Good Sam. My reading habits and interests change over time, but the desire to find and consume great books is steadfast. I have noticed that when I reference or quote an author, many in the congregation inquire afterwards to ensure that they have the name correct — a good sign, if you ask me!
Last Sunday, I referenced the work of Brene Brown. She has authored many excellent books. Atlas of the Heart is a personal favorite, although it may not be the best starting point for those new to her work. If you have a full reading list or favor other media options, Brown is featured in some great videos, including a TedTalk, and she also hosts a podcast.
I hope to encourage a continued sharing of titles and authors, that we might learn from one another. I will endeavor to find more ways to share what I am reading currently, as well as favorite books and authors. This week I started The Tears of Things by Richard Rohr, the most recent book by an author I have enjoyed reading for years. I wonder, what are you reading this week? For those of you looking for more spiritual content, I’ll do my best to offer a personalized recommendation!
Blessings,
Fr. Paul
