The culmination of the “Here I am” pledge drive is this Sunday, November 16. I hope that you have learned from and enjoyed the sharing of members in service and the letter and materials sent out. I also hope that you have taken time to pray and discern your commitment to Good Sam for the coming year. These commitments help us plan for the year ahead, as well as help us each discern how God is calling us to serve. We invite everyone to bring their pledge cards this Sunday. There will be extras available at the church if you didn’t receive one, or misplaced it… or forgot it on the kitchen counter that morning. During the offertory, you will each have the opportunity to bring your cards forward and place them on the altar. This act of stepping forward in faith and offering your gifts to God at the altar is symbolic of our commitment, accentuating the reason for our pledges of time, talent and treasure. If you’re unable, or prefer not to come forward, you are welcome to place your cards in the offering basket at any time.

After worship we will celebrate our annual ingathering. Our weekly coffee hour will be enriched at both services. Following the 10 am service, the vestry will provide various chili offerings, and members are encouraged to bring side dishes and desserts to complete the celebration. I hope to see you there!
