Good Sam's Small Groups
by Paul Klitzke on July 10, 2025
Small groups are an essential part of church life. Their variety and number vary from church to church, although some groups are common. Among Episcopal Churches, official groups - such as vestry, altar guild and choir - tend to have designated expectations and responsibilities. Other groups form and change more organically, like Bible Studies and groups with specific interests.
I have attended and participated in as many of Good Sam's groups as possible over the past few months. It’s been a joy to see how and why our various groups meet and fulfill their purpose. Recent efforts to review our website and church calendar revealed additional groups I was not yet familiar with. As we work to update this information, it would help to hear from you, particularly if I haven’t participated in your group yet!
Our hope is that our website and other communications can convey the full offerings of the church. It would help me to know what groups you participate in, and if the group is open to welcoming new members. This information will help us in a variety of ways. It will also help us identify what new offerings might be added in the near future.
