Ways We Serve

Welcoming Ministry

We are so glad that you chose to inquire about Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. We invite you to worship with us any Sunday at either the 7:45 am or 9:30 am service.

Welcoming Ministries include the Greeters, Friends Group, and Sunday morning Fellowship after the 9:30 am service.

If you have any questions, thoughts or comments on how you can become more involved, please know that you are welcome to contact me at any time.

Blessings on your journey,
The Rev. Janine Schenone

Greeters provide a warm welcome to visitors before and after the 9:30 am service and help provide them with information about Good Sam.

Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Ministry, made up of church members answering Christ’s call to love one another, serves various needs within the Good Samaritan community. Led by our Clergy, those in this ministry have organized around a variety of recognized needs.

To request prayer, please email prayer@goodsamchurch.org. If you have a non-emergency pastoral need, you can call the church office at 858-458-1501. For emergency pastoral care needs, call the emergency pastoral care number at 858-215-4399, and the Rev. Janine Schenone will respond. You can also email Rev. Janine directly with your requests at janines@goodsamchurch.org.

Please watch the weekly Good Sam Notes for our prayer list and send any questions to pastoralcare@goodsamchurch.org

Our community gathers to worship every week to give thanks, praise and know what it means to love and be loved by God and each other. Those who work both behind the scenes and “up front” seek to make your worship experience one you’ll want to repeat.

Worship with us:

Sunday, 7:45 am in our Chapel or at 9:30 am in our Sanctuary – Holy Communion

Wednesday, 9:30 am – healing prayer service lead by Order of Saint Luke members

Please watch our website and the weekly Good Sam Notes for upcoming worship opportunities and send any questions to worship@goodsamchurch.org

Community Life

Encouraging and supporting strong fellowship activities has always been an important foundation at Good Samaritan. We hope to create warm, loving, and meaningful experiences. All are welcome to participate in transforming a gathering of individuals into a community of friends, a family of Christ.

Please watch our website and the weekly Good Sam Notes for upcoming events and send any questions to communitylife@goodsamchurch.org

“He who has a generous eye will be blessed.” Prov 22:9
What would you see if you looked at the world through generous eyes? You might notice needs that escape other people, or identify places where you alone are capable of giving what is needed. Seeing with generous eyes would color your thinking beyond yourself.

“God, who can I bless in this present situation?”
“What do I have that I could use to make a difference?”
“What is the need here – and what can I do to meet it?”

We need to grow in generosity to support the ministries of the church.
