Outreach and Advocacy

From its beginning, Good Samaritan members have tried to live up to the example of our namesake, the Good Samaritan in the Gospel of Luke. We have numerous ways for people of all ages and abilities to get involved.

Once a year, we host the Interfaith Homeless Shelter for two weeks in our Roetter Hall. We make meals for the hungry, tutor refugees at RefugeeNet, donate items monthly to the Community Christian Service Agency, and assist local, national, and international partners such as Vida Joven and Burundi Friends International. At Christmas, we donate toys to Toys for Tots.

Each year, we work with the Build a Miracle organization to build a house (or two) in Tijuana, Mexico. We work three Saturdays each spring to build a home and furnish it for a family.
